Meet the Candidates

Candidate for Auburn City Council
Jack Hardy, Auburn
  • Jack and his wife Denise live at 72 Chapman Ave. in Auburn. They have one son, Alan, who lives and works in New Jersey. Jack and Denise returned to Auburn in 2006 after Jack retired from a 25-year career at Colgate Palmolive.
  • Jack is a graduate of Auburn’s West High School Class of 1970 and Auburn Community College Class of 1973. He earned his B.A. at Ithaca College in 1975 and his M.A. at NYU in 1980.
  • Currently Jack is a member of Hospice of the Finger Lakes, Board of Directors; NAACP, Executive Boar;, Westminitster Presbyterian Church, Elder; Owasco Watershed Lake Association, Member; and The Community Fund.

Candidate for Cayuga County Legislature District 15
Cynthia Aikman, Auburn
  • Cynthia lives at 17 Liberty St. with her husband Walt Aikman, a Professor at Cayuga Community College, and their two children, Susan and Daniel.
  • Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at SUNY Oneonta and her Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Maxell School at Syracuse University.
  • She owns her own business and is an active member and volunteer for many organizations and community groups.
